Ok... I shall talk about happy things here... haha i think some of you know about my very exciting journey back to Penn, but don't want to write about that :)
International Student Orientation -- Wah I didn't know I would get to do so many things! Thought i'll just be a small fry kind but in the end, quite fun to actually bear so many responsibilities. I think I have learnt to be a better communicator after coming to USA. Last time don't really dare to talk or speak up/out or suggest or delegate work etc... now I actually feel quite at ease doing such things. After all the activities I have done this year (which involves lots of talking to strangers), I feel a lot more comfortable communicating with others.
Made a lot of new friends the past 2 days. All very friendly + funny people, especially the South Americans. Quite cute when they try to imitate Singaporeans and add "lah" to all their sentences. Some of the Indians and Australians are hilarious too. I found that the phrase "Fair enough" is actually an Australian thing. And I also found out that there's a place in Russia called Rat Islands. Germans always turn up on time, Koreans often arrive late. Many people speak spanish, which I think sounds super cool LAH. Some of us had a good laugh trying to pronounce the eastern european students' names.... blah blah blah blah -ic. Parents were losing their kids and coming up to us asking where their kids are.... hmmph. And how would we know???
Ok... that comment is very random.
Looking forward to the end of the week!! Going for a weekend getaway to Cornell... :) American Idol concert on Saturday with my brother and friends, and church on Sunday... It'll really be a good break after such a hectic week.
Actually, life without internet/computer isn't too bad after all. My time is used for more constructive activities, like reading, writing, running, thinking? :P And when I actually get to use the computer, the time is so precious and I actually reply my emails and talk to a lot more people! Yup... musn't become overdependent on the computer (and anything else for that matter).
Hope everyone's doing well back home. Email if you can :P
