PETRICHOR -- The pleasant smell that often accompanies the first rain after a dry spell.

I luuuurrrrvvvvveeee that smell. It makes me want to hyperventilate and keep breathing in!! I never knew there was a word to describe that smell... until I went to work for the Psych grad student today and she told me about it :)

Structuring Structured Structures -- Pierre Bourdieu

Yah.. so cheem right... but if you think of it (for a long time), you will be able to see how this applies to so many of the social norms that we find ourselves conforming to daily. Yet we in turn shape and mould these structures, resulting in their evolution over time. Its like this endless cycle... the structures influence us and we influence them and they influence us etc etc.

This weekend... WRITE PAPER!!! I better get down to doing that... its due on Friday and I haven't even chosen a topic. Singapore Food Feste's on Thursday next week. I foresee a crazy Wednesday night of frying fried rice and making wantons. And then a crazy Thursday... and then my paper is due on Friday!! Die die die... i better not get distracted so easily this weekend!!!
