I guess when I get overly excited about things, I always get disappointed cos my expectations are too high. Sometimes I get carried away by my emotions and my excitement and I end up making a mess of things.
The education policy in Singapore's undergoing lots of hammering these days huh... all the stuff about languages and Chinese syllabus. I think what MOE should consider is setting up a syllabus with modules. Like take a fixed number of years of basic language chinese, like in primary school. Then after that they get to choose between several options, like Chinese History, Commercial Chinese, Beijing Chinese, dialects, Chinese literature etc. I personally think the Commercial Chinese track is a good way to go, since the ministers keep harping on the importance of economic and political relationships with China.
Didn't get that committee position i wanted... oh well. Too little space for too many people. They asked if i wanted to be on a bunch of other committees... but nah... no interest i guess. Recreation and intercollegiate athletics? Network Policy? Student Wellness?? Nah... :) Don't want to join something for the sake of being on a committee especially if I'm not interested in what they are doing.
