Carribeanized-Mao

I went to NYC today to play Big Apple Netball Tournament. I quite like Fuji apples by the way.


Had to wake up at 3am cos it takes 4 plus hours to drive to nyc... i actually didn't want to sleep but then at 1.30am i couldn't tahan anymore. Then at 2.55 I opened my eyes. Shit I was super sleepy.

Oh by the way, the team i'm playing with now is called De Islanders. They are tempted to change their name to International Islanders, cos as of this year, there is an Aussie, Kiwi and now me. We're all on islands. So most of my teammates are from Carribean islands. They speak with a super funky accent, so funky that half the time i have to say sorry. I mean, "Sorry?". But they have a very good sense of humor. They laugh at anything and everything, me included. They say they cannot talk about sex in the van because I am a kid. They say my license must be fake.... hahaha. They also call my name in a funny way.... Jas-min, with the "min" as the second tone in the chinese language. Anyway these ppl ah, they're damn good at suaning each other.... you won't expect it cos they're mostly above 30 and many of them are mamas already. But they really suan each other like siao. Sit in the van with them can laugh until peng san.

Anyway we had a blast in Manhattan. I had a bigger blast because i was blasted around by big huge women. Wah lau the players there are huge. Front and back all very huge. When they fall down I think the earth will shake. When they knock me I fly. There was a girl who knocked me and I like tumbled forward already.... then she wanted to rescue me so she stuck out her huge arm but instead punched my thigh. Ok but they are all very strong and fast. There was a girl who was 3/4 the height of the pole. I wanted to take a photo with her for fun just to see the height difference, but couldnt find her at the end of the day. (Ironic right... so tall and I cannot find her). When I play Goal Attack I have to hurry up shoot before they tower and stretch their hands out over me. Or else I cannot even see the sky. Haha but all in all it was damn fun and I got voted mvp of my team by the other teams. After that my teammates suan me say doesn't make sense... if ppl cannot see me how can vote me.

Anyway Carribean culture quite cool. Their music always makes me feel very upbeat. Actually I think its more because my teammates always lancing lancing when the music starts to play. They say the most impt part of their dance culture is to learn how to shake their chests. Yah very frank right... but according to them, it's a skill to shake properly. They all cook really well also... there's this chicken rice pilaf thing that's damn nice lah... and this morning got "Salt fish bake". In other words... salted fish and this sweet bread thing. They eat a lot. That's why they're all big lah. They drink a lot too. When we take photos they don't say "Cheese!", they say "Heineken!". Then they say I must say "Fruit Punch!". Hahaha...




I'm happy today.
