The most heartwarming remark I heard at the Food Feste -- "It feels quite cool being a Singaporean".
Someone else commented to me... "You guys are really tight huh, you even wear the same shirts to serve".
So happy!!!! I'm so thankful everything went according to plan... little glitches along the way but I'm so proud of how everyone handled everything. It's like you spend how many weeks and days and hours planning for an event, and then when it starts, you just sit back and watch the show run itself through. Endless people streaming in... laksa noodles running out... haha. I really should have insisted putting a video camera beside the laksa dish... then after filming, we can watch it, in fast-forward mode.
God has an amazing way of teaching people lessons. It would have been fine giving out free tickets because the servers barely ate a single dish. The drivers weren't at the food feste, and the flyering ppl were the servers... so it wouldn't have cost anything to give the helpers free tickets. It was also ok not to give free tickets, cos the event was such a good bonding time for Singaporeans, I learn that unity can be cultivated without the use of incentives. And I'm glad that after this event, Singaporeans feel proud of the club and it will be so much easier for the next committee to get people to help out.
And then the most amazing twist of the night... you see, the servers didn't eat cos they were busy serving... but in the end, there was a miraculous tray of beef with kailan that couldn't be found at the start of the food feste but appeared at the end. And then there was that huge CAKE. So eventually we all sat around eating beef and kailan and wedding cake.

I'm gonna miss Penn.
